As somebody commented in this forum, Windrvr6 install silently fails because it does not support the Linux kernel 3.2. When SDK was working fine, I could not make it detect the JTAG cable.
First I had to reinstall to the Embedded version, because if not the ARM toolchain is not installed (and the provided by Xilinx has a different name that SDK does not recognize, and configuring Eclipse can be a nightmare). Hi, I spent some days trying to make Impact detect the JTAG cable. The iMPACT GUI will start and when it asks to automatically detect the JTAG. Xilinx and Digilent boards use a FTDI USB. Some documents provided by Xilinx say that the drivers should be on the USB Drive provided with the FPGA in a folder called 'Drivers_and_tools', but there isn't one on mine.
I've been trying this for days to no avail. The board I am using is the Virtex 6 ML605 xc6vlx240t ff1156. I was wondering if anyone knows where to get USB JTAG cable drivers for Windows Vista and Windows 7 machines.
